kristina
We are receiving an Sen premium for a child still with us in September, the extra funding is being used for 1:1 support for the child, mum has informed me they are going away for 2 weeks end of September. My question is does the member of staff still come in even though the child she is employed for wont be there, and I assume she still gets paid? The additional funding covers some of her wage but not all of it. Kris
Stargrower
I would say yes she still comes in and certainly she should still be paid. It's not her fault the family are going on holiday! Would she be able to do some preparation for when the child returns. Or just help out in general? Beehive
HappyMaz
I would also say that her employment, pay and conditions should carry on in the child's absence, but it driteria for the funding and so on. I'd check with your Local Authority or the terms and conditions attached to the provision of funding. In the past we have used time when children were at appointments or on holiday to prepare activities or complete profiles and sometimes to do further research into aspects of the child's care/education which the practitioner needs to keep abreast of.
