Childrens Christmas Dinner

Recommended Posts

HI

We are having a debate! at nursery at the mo about how we should organise christmas dinner for the children.

Some staff say we should offer it every day during the week leading up to christmas so that all the children can have a christmas meal others say only once that week but then not many children would have a christmas dinner.

Would anyone like to share what they do please?

thanks

wouldn't those who come every day get a bit sick of it?

Could you do it twice and invite children to come in on those two days for a special event?

We are doing our christmas lunch on one day, and using that as part of our 'party day' all the children are invited to come -cooking christmas lunch every day would drive me nutty -and probably not very cost effective ?

We're doing two events, so if you can't make one then the other's available.

We'll never please everyone, but that is the way of it and more than anything it is much more about the spirit that the children and staff get into.

Hope it all goes well,

Spiral.

We are offering Christmas lunch as an alternative to bringing your own lunch (which nursery usually do because our lunchtimes do not coincide with schools) on the day that the whole school has lunch!

It is an option not something everyone has to do.

We will do that next Tuesday with party day Thursday and then Friday we will eat our way through party leftovers before finishing for Christmas! :o
