clm33
Hi, We are going to be giraffe class in September and I have been searching for songs and rhymes about giraffes for the children to learn. Most I have found are very complicated and long, if anyone has any giraffe rhymes, or even zoo ones, it would be great if you could share. Thanks everyone x
Panders
Don't know any songs I'm afraid but there's a lovely story called Georgina the Giraffe in the Zoo Lane series - she gets her neck in a knot and has to go to the knot doctor! Actually just found a song in this little puffin, it is sung to the tune of John Brown's Tractor Mr. Smith the Keeper has ten lions in his Zoo, Mr. Smith the Keeper has ten lions in his Zoo, Mr. Smith the Keeper has ten lions in his Zoo, ane he has to feed them every day! they then suggest, 9 tigers, 8 zebra 7 giraffes, 6 leopards, 5 monkeys, 4 camels, 3 hippos, 2 parrots and an ostrich! Guest
We had a little girl who did Makaton this year and had a toy giraffe so I learnt the sign for it for her. Make a "face" with thumb and middle finger, holding the other three up as ears. Then hold your arm up and rub your other hand up and down your forearm to show the long neck. She loved it amd so did I!
Guest
Just found this one..... GIRAFFE Of all the animals in the zoo, I am the tallest. That is true. Who am I? I am the giraffe. I am brown and white with a little red, And I have two knobs on the top of my head. Who am I? I am a giraffe. My neck is long, I am very tall, But I don't have very much voice at all. Who am I? I am a giraffe. I have one big ear on each side of my head. High up in the air is where I am fed. Who am I? I am a giraffe. I walk right up to the tallest tree. And I eat the leaves that are good for me. Who am I? I am a giraffe.
Beau
Giraffes seem to be severely under represented in the songs and rhymes department. There are a couple in amongst these pages. Animal rhymes Zoo and wild animals
