Buttercup
I thought it might be a good idea to have a leaflet on how to make a complaint/compliment to ofsted. Has anyone got one they can share before I make one. thanks buttercup
Cait
I have a paragraph in the prospectus, a notice in the lobby and a section in the newsletter every now and then. Happy to share wording with you if you need it
Inge
personally, if you really want to do this make sure you put emphasis on following your complaints procedure first before contacting Ofsted... Many complaints can be dealt with internally, and I have found parents often tend to ignore a complaints procedure and go direct to Ofsted which causes so many issues on its own... while they need to know they can do this , I would definitely ensure that it is only the last step of any procedures and that they are aware of this... from personal experience have had it happen where a complaint could have been dealt with quickly and internally, (while still being recorded) and having a full blown Ofsted investigation took months and lots of issues, all of which came out with an unfounded complaint.. had she followed our complaints procedure so much time, and stress could have been avoided... for both us and parent.. who eventually apologised to me, several times over. Buttercup
I am probably making more work. I have procedure on wall, ofsted poster and bit in prospectus. Thought it would be good to have a leaflet parents could just pick up if needed. Mind you never had a complaint in 3 years so prob dont need it. buttercup
Guest
The poster we were sent from Ofsted baffled me a little because it doesn't mention (speaking from memory) following the settings complaints procedure before contacting them - almost encouraging parents to complain as this seemed to be emphasised more than the 'compliments' section
