Guest Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 my class have benn doing dinosaurs and have loved it. They now want to explore volcanoes. Apart from the obvious exploding volcano science experiment I am a little short on ideas. any help would be most appreciated.
Cait Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Could you build models with paper mache? Bake some 'lava' biscuits with jam in the middle?
JacquieL Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 One of my all time favourite books has dinosaurs and a volcano in it ' Tom and the Island of the Dinosaurs.' There are lots of possibilities around that.
Guest Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 super ideas. Thanks . It's only a mini topic so don't need too much. Will get the book and let you all know what i did with it. we've already done some volcano animations using 2 animate. such a simple programme so the next stage was going to be making some paper mache volcanoes.
luluj Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 We recently did some paired work using mod-roc wrapped around wool cones to make volcano shapes then pummelled the shape after it had dried the next day them with a variety of different tools. Lots of investigation, noise and some very interesting volcano shapes! luluj
