Hi All

 

I have recently taken a post as a Manager in an Early Years Setting and i have been told i have to complete a SEF - having never done one before, i don't know where to start.Any help or advice would be really appreciated!!

you have come to the right place! There are loads on here and lots of threads all about the SEF.

 

I'll do a search for you and be right back

 

here you are, but bear in mind that the thread was started before the SEF changed last Autumn. It'll still give you lots of ideas though - often just reading someone else's is all you need!

I downloaded and printed out severalof these today, only to be informed that they dont really apply to me as i teach in a maintained school. Im in a desperate state as i have to complete both the SEF and QIF in the next fortnight.

Can anyone point me in the right direction on here where to get some help?

There is an excellent book by Jenny Barber called The EYFS Inspection in Practice. You should get this it really helps. Also put the SEF up in your staff room and get everyone to add bits in, they all need to know what the SEF is and what sort of things are in it. Ofsted will question them about it.
