titchy Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 goin full day care 8 til 3 from sept so want to provide a quiet area for naps, rest time. would it be okay to do this in the book corner or do other people have an area specifically designed for children to take naps. also will i need some packaway beds you know the sort you can get, little blue mattress type things that don't look very comfy. Day nurseries tend to use them. Quote
Cait Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 i think for hygiene sake, they'd be best. Community Playthings have them. We have children who like a nap every now and then, maybe once a month or so we'll have a 'snoozer' and we have a pile of continental quilts we got for Book Day one year and make a nest with those - I take the quilt cover home afterwards to wash it. sam2368 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I've put voile curtains up around our library areas and we have just 4 mattresses across both rooms with blankets. Those who need a sleep have got into a proper routine, some just have a rest - it works really well. Sam Quote
mps09 Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 we have two children's sofa beds in the book corner.... If a child wants a sleep or quite time they open them up and the other children know it's a 'don't disturb me' time. Quote
