Party Manifestos

OK so I'm wading my way through the Lib Dems manifesto. Here's what I've found so far

  • Will support existing childcare funding arrangements, but are committed to providing 20 hours' free provision for children aged 18 months
  • Support providers to encourage more men into the profession
  • Will replace the EYFS with a "slimmed down framework which includes a range of educational approaches and enough fl exibility for every young child".

If you want to have a look for yourself you can find their manifesto here.

Will be back later!

And here's more:-

  • More money for schools to cut class sizes (average size for primary school would be 20) and provide one to one tuition for children who need extrra support
  • Axe the rigid National Curriculum, and replace it with a "slimmed down ‘Minimum Curriculum Entitlement’ to be delivered by every state-funded school."
  • Bring in Education Freedom Act which will prevent politicians interfering with the day-to-day running of schools and reduce the size of the DCSF and the areas it controls.

Thanks, I spoted this in the Labour manifesto - not sure if is a vote winner ;-)

All primary schools will teach a modern foreign language. We will create a specialist Mandarin teaching qualification, so that many more primary schools have access to a qualified primary teacher able to teach Mandarin.
