Guest Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Hi everyone - please help. i am a childminder at the moment but thinking about applying for work in a nursery. i have seen a job advertised for a nursery officer - might sound thick here so apologies in advance..... but.... what are the differences between a nursery nurse and a nursery officer and also just incase whta sort of things would be asked at interview? thanks guys xx Quote
Guest Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 In my experience, the term nursery officer is just a variation on the term nursery nurse. I wouldn't expect the questions would be too different. I would expect you would be asked things about safeguarding, health and safety, EYFS, parent partnerships, maybe asked to give an example of an activity or experience you have offered children in the past. Good luck, let us know how you get on! Quote
Rea Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Hi jolene, nursery officer is the same as nursey nurse from experience too. Round here its the council day nurseries that use the term officer. Good luck if you apply Quote
Guest Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 hi Yes they are the same! You may be asked all of what Clare suggested and questions like- if a 2year old child started at nursery and was really shy and quiet how would you help that child to mix and join in with other children? You might be asked to explain how you would plan an activity for a child who had sight problems/ speech problem etc. Good luck if you decide to apply for it! unsworth Quote
