HappyMaz Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 A childcare provider in Buckinghamshire has started a campaign to enable childcare settings to reclaim the VAT on their purchases. She has raised a petition on the Number 10 website - have a look here if you'd like to find out more and/or sign. Maz Quote

Pimms o'clock? Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Just had a quick peep and its up to 238 signatures now, if we all send the link to all our local nurseries that should get a few more on there. BMG Quote

Guest Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Duly done and as suggested circulated to likeminded people in my inbox. Interestingly I got one reply from a mum (oh no, just an ex-mum as her lovelies are now being homeschooled) who has also signed. She commented: "Though you should consider a parliamentary petition, rather than a petition to Number 10, they tend to ignore the No. 10 petitions. Do you belong to a national union or group? Home-edders co-ordinated across the country via the yahoo groups and Facebook and managed to get over 120 parliamentary petitions read in parliament. If it could be done and you all convinced the local MP's to present together on one day it would cause a ripple and be noticed. It would help to have an MP to co-ordinate it at the Parliament end although finding that MP may be difficult." Any comments? Worth passing on to the originator of the No 10 petition? Quote
