bgfrancis Posted September 13, 2009 Share Posted September 13, 2009 Hi everyone, my topic for the next 2 weeks is based on ourselves and i'm desperate for some ideas. I have come up with lots of ideas for adult directed and adult initiated independent activities but i am struggling to think of ideas to extend the topic in the different areas of the classroom during choosing times. Our role play area is a home corner which the children are enjoying but i'm finding it difficult to think of areas like writing, exploration and creative. Upsy Daisy Posted September 13, 2009 Share Posted September 13, 2009 I made familiy trees with some pre-schoolers a while ago. I didn't want to give them a classic family tree shape on paper to fill in so I took some branches from a bush I was pruning anyway, made labels with names and little pictures on and put them on the 'tree' with elastic bands. It was quite interesting to see who they chose to put at the top. They needed help but as yours are a little older could they write the names on the labels independently and each make a tree to represent their own family?
