Guest Posted February 24, 2009 Share Posted February 24, 2009 what a day!!! i recruited new staff last month for baby room (an existing student who is excellent) and now the owner has put a bl***y big spanner in the works!!!!! after i had completed the rota for next week he has just informed me that i must take on his daughter for 15hours per week, must be in the baby room as "shes good with sisters baby!" you can imagine how this has gone down with staff who are concerned about " a spy in the camp" and loosing hours! Surely most, if not all of your staff are also "good with sister's baby" Has she had any training at all? none whats so ever!! just made redundant from a shop!!! she has no choice either -he said she has to!!! time will tell!!! thing is i cant give her hours in the baby room each week as not enough to go round!! just chance i can next week as some staff need days off- ill have to move her arround. most staff need in our tweenies(18month -2y) as we have 2 with very challenging behaviour one who is being assessed at the moment by a range of specialists to determine special needs status. one shift in there and she wont want to come back!!! on the positive side she might be a natural and i'll get her on the path to some qualifications!!! staff will have to watch what they say as her father is often the brunt of several moans per day!!! usually justified!!
