Books About Cancer

 Share

Recommended Posts

A little girl in my school (year 4) has just found out her mum has cancer. Hopefully it's treatable but she's very upset and has lots of difficult feelings. I just wondered if anyone knows of any books that are helpful for this situation.

Thank you.

Emma

Hi

that is very sad news. I have just read about a prefect book in Nursery World. Did you read about the when the Early Years Consultant, had her grandchildren, we wrote about their early development as a column. She has since had cancer and has written a book especially for younger children. I will try and find the article again. Unless anyone knows the book, I am talking about?

The article was published in 29 October issue of Nursery World. This is the link to it on the website archive http://www.nurseryworld.co.uk/inDepth/8578...anny-lost-hair/

The book is When Granny Lost Her Hair, by Sandy Green. You can order it from Sandy's website www.sandy-green.com.
