emmajess Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 A little girl in my school (year 4) has just found out her mum has cancer. Hopefully it's treatable but she's very upset and has lots of difficult feelings. I just wondered if anyone knows of any books that are helpful for this situation. Thank you. Emma
diesel10 Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Hi that is very sad news. I have just read about a prefect book in Nursery World. Did you read about the when the Early Years Consultant, had her grandchildren, we wrote about their early development as a column. She has since had cancer and has written a book especially for younger children. I will try and find the article again. Unless anyone knows the book, I am talking about?

Guest Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 that would be really helpful, thank you. Is the article in the current issue of nursery world? The article was published in 29 October issue of Nursery World. This is the link to it on the website archive http://www.nurseryworld.co.uk/inDepth/8578...anny-lost-hair/ The book is When Granny Lost Her Hair, by Sandy Green. You can order it from Sandy's website www.sandy-green.com.
Lorna Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Also have a look at the Winstons Wish website. I have a little girl at school- who we are also looking to get books for and there are some good ones on the website.
