I also looked at the school.ik.org one. It is something I've thought about but never got around to yet. How long did it take for you to put all the information in? How much time does it take to maintain /update it? Is it mainly used by current parents and has it proved useful as an advertising tool? ......and finally, my hubby doesn't believe anything is for free, are there any hidden costs, besides time!? (only joking) Peggy ... honestly it is free (its run by BT for schools etc) you have to pay to upgrade it but I just used the free package. I started using it about 6 months ago. It took about 2 - 3 hours to put the basic info on and I usually update it once a week which takes about 15 mins. It does depend how detailed you want to make it. It is used by parents, committee, students and children and has got us two new children this term. You have to make sure you don't put the childrens names on there and I don't put photos of childrens full face on there, I take photos from the side or behind, and parents see the photos and give written permisson before they are put onto our web site. I am planning to scan some of the childrens work and put it on the web site when I get time. I also checked with the staff to see if they minded thier names being put on the web site.
