Guest
Hellooo all, I embarked on my NQT year in September 2007, working on a part-time basis, but from the January term I have been working full-time. My problem being that in July I will still have approx. 6 wks in order to complete my NQT year, I am debating; should i mention this in my letter of application or just save it to tell them if i am successful for interview? Also explaining the above would waste valubale words, which i think would be more effective in gaining their attention. Any advice would be warmly welcomed!! Thanks in anticipation!! HappyMaz
Sorry, Lyd I have no words of wisdom to offer! Just wanted to welcome you to the Forum, and to say that someone will be along in a while to tell you what they think. Its that sort of place! Susan
Hi Lyd and welcome If you are detailing on your application your current experience, can you not put Sept-Jan or Autumn term part time, Jan- Aug Full time. As this is your first teaching job, prospective employers will be able to see that you are still an NQT? Good luck with the job hunt. Guest
It's probably best to be reasonably open and upfront about it. I had a similiar situation in my NQT year but ended up staying at my school so I didn't have any issues with completing it else where. It may put some schools off if it looks like you are trying to hide it.
