Guest
Does anyone have any nice ideas for a mixed foundation / ks1 class to do with wind and air, could do with some nice ideas for finding out, making predicitons and testing materials?? thought initially about letting children find out what the wind can do or not do!! e.g. kites, windmills, bubbles, ribbons etc and large parachute. But then would like some ideas to extend their learning. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.!!! thanks lotte
Guest Wolfie
We did an activity once to help the children explore ideas of heavy and light which might fit in with your topic nicely.....we got hold of a couiple of large balloons filled with helium gas and made them into hot air balloons byb attaching a little container underneath - the children experimented with which things they could put into the container which would wither keep the balloon on the ground or allow it to rise. They loved it - we started off with some objects for them to try, asking them to predict what would happen, and then they went off and found their own things to try. Rea
I rediscovered a story at the weekend, it might not be what you need but take a look anyway. Its about the wind and the sun arguing to see who is stronger. It's from the BBC cbeebies siteSun and the wind
