Using screwdrivers etc to take apart old electrical items

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi, we have had donations of a few old electrical items which we would like to use for the children to take apart under supervision with screwdrivers etc,

We are school nursery taking 3 and 4 year olds. Just wondering if anyone else has had any success with this type of thing, and specifically if anyone has got a risk assessment that we could have a look at?

Thanks in advance for your advice

Cheers

Ours love doing this, apart from using the tools to take apart, once inside the moving parts are fascinating and being able to push buttons and move cogs to see what moves inside to understand cause and effect is great (old cd/tape players are good for this)and lots of little wires to snip ...and their optimism that they can 'fix it' before home time is just brilliant :-)
