  1. Hi Cheryl, You are so very welcome! I am afraid that there isn't a separate template without any of the assessment sections. I will pass on your feedback to the rest of the team, though, and we will let you know if anything changes. Best wishes, Olaya
  2. Hi Cheryl, Thank you for getting in touch with us! Based on what you are telling us I believe that there are three places that you can record all of these conversations: You can create an observation called 'Child Name Conversation Report'. You can leave this observation as 'Not in journal' so the relative cannot see it until the end of the year, when you can publish it. You can ignore the assessments section entirely, there's no need to add assessments to an observation. You can then come back to this same observation whenever you have a conversation with the relative and make a record of it by editing it and making sure that you also record the day and time of each conversation. So you might have '16 September 2020' followed by the conversation had that day, and then underneath you might edit it to add '25 October 2020' and your conversation then. At the end of the academic year you will be able to publish the observation and have it exported within the child's journal. You can do the same as above but via a Memo. The thing with memos, however, is that they are not added to the children's journals, so at the end of the academic year you'd need to export this separately to provide the relative with a copy. You can create an actual report from the Reports section across the top. If you don't want to include any assessments, you can simply click on 'Hide Section' at the top right hand side corner of the Assessments section to remove this section from the report entirely. You can then just use the rest of the sections as you wish, hiding any you do not need. Reports can be added to the child's journal at the end of the year, so that's quite handy! I hope this was helpfu, but do let me know if you have any questions about this! Best wishes, Olaya
  3. Hi Weavers, As we approach a new academic year, there is still so much uncertainty for schools and early years settings. One thing we can be sure of is that there will be new challenges to face. Ben, from our education team, has written a helpful article focused specifically on supporting children as they transition from Reception to Year 1. You can read it here to find some thoughtful tips. We will continue to create resources to support you throughout the year, whatever challenges it brings. Now let’s have a look at all the news and updates from Tapestry this month. Videos During the summer, we’ve been busy recording loads of video tutorials for both existing and new Tapestry users. They’ll help you set up your account ready for the new academic year. You can find them all on our Tapestry YouTube channel. We will continue to create more video tutorials, so do make sure to subscribe to our channel so you can see all our new videos as and when we add them. Tapestry Encyclopedia If you’re looking for assistance with a particular aspect or topic on Tapestry, such as setting up parents/relatives, take a look at our Tapestry Encyclopedia. We have divided all our Tapestry resources into chapters to help you find exactly what you are looking for. Please note, to access some of the resources, such as downloadable PowerPoints, you will need to be logged in to a Foundation Stage Forum account. A subscription to the FSF is included with every Tapestry package. Managers and full members of staff can also set up their own FSF account with their Tapestry login details. This tutorial will talk you through how to register on the forum. Articles Here on our information site we regularly add articles on a range of topics, written by a variety of authors including members of our own education team. Article topics include supporting parental engagement and the different ways to submit reading records to Tapestry. Read them all online here. Reminders Support during September As September is our busiest time of the year (as we know it is for most of you too!), our response time to support tickets may be slightly longer than usual. We always aim to answer queries as quickly as possible, so rest assured we will reply to you as soon as we can. To speed up how quickly we are able to assist you, please make sure that you contact us from a registered manager’s or staff’s email address, especially if the query relates to your account. If you have a finance or subscription question, please include your most recent invoice number if possible. Training sessions in September We know many of you are just starting out with Tapestry or are looking for ways to get the most out of it for the new academic year, so this year Lauren is around to deliver training sessions throughout September. Unfortunately, we can’t offer to come out to your school/setting, but she is very happy to do remote sessions. These cost £36 (including VAT) per 30 minutes, can last up to an hour, be for as many people from the same school/setting as you like, and can cover whatever you want! We also have loads of free written and video tutorials, though, so you might find those are the best way to help you get going – you will find them on the Foundation Stage Forum website and our Tapestry YouTube channel. If training is the way you’d like to go, however, please email customer.service@eyfs.info with: A list of what you’d like to cover in the session. Whether you are looking for help using Tapestry in KS1/KS2, EYFS, or SEND (or a mix). A couple of dates and times that you could do (Monday – Friday starting at any time 9.30am – 4pm). Whether you would like a 30 minute session or 1 hour session. Slots are limited but we’ll do our best to fit you in for your preferred date. If we can’t find a date in September we will be able to book you in for later in the term. Other members of the team will start offering training sessions from October the 19th as well, so there will be a lot more availability then. Payment for invoices We’d like to remind anyone who will be paying for the renewal of their account soon by BACS that our bank details changed last year. Your invoice will include the correct details, so please do double check these, just in case. Also, if you pay by bank transfer, make sure to include your invoice number in the payment reference, send a remittance advice to bacs@eyfs.info and allow 5-7 working days for the payment to be processed. This tutorial will talk you through the different ways you can arrange payment for an invoice. If you have any questions about your invoice or making a payment, you can contact us, quoting your invoice number, by emailing customer.service@eyfs.info.
  4. Hi twinthinguk and Chughes, All very good suggestions! The more users ask for this feature - including the 'read' option in the Care Diary - the higher priority level they'll get Best wishes, Olaya
  5. Hi Catherine and jeaniedodsley, Our colleague Jack recently wrote an article exploring three different ways of recording readings on Tapestry with the tools currently available. You can read it here. I hope you find it helpful! Best wishes, Olaya
  6. Hi jeaninedodsley and Lilliputianplay, Thank you so much for your suggestion! This is something other setting's have requested as well, so we are currently looking into it. We will keep you in the loop of its development Best wishes, Olaya
