Oh Clare don't give up, how many times have you told me not to, so now I am giving you the same advice.
I know you didn't want advice. Why not have a word with you tutor about what you have seen maybe they will have an possible solution to the bad practice this should not be allowed to happen. I wonder what would my college tutor say about this one. Off topic I know but a student was telling us about an incdent involing pure bleach and lack of commmuncation skills. Our tutor told us it was very bad practice and this is why we are studying for the FD and Early Years Professional Status to get better proffessional in place to care for the children in a suitable way.You must stay postive
look how far I have come. Ok still its not the right job for me at the moment but I know if I persvier (sp) a job which will support my college day will come soon. Why not ask you personal tutor at college for advice.
Maybe they will help you sell the FD course and its benefits to possible employer in which you can then sell yourself with the information in mind.
Good luck and a big vurtual ((((((((((hug))))))))))) from me.

measure a room for children birth to 5 years old? I've worked in a small room and was wondering how many children we can have per age group to square meters ratio.
Beth

Umm this looks an interesting course to attend.
I wonder how I could do it but I mainly work with the under 3's.Beth
-
Umm Urdu with a little help from the staff who can speak it.
Thats one of the things I don't like about it I cannot fully understand what the children are trying to convey to me. I talk back and ask them about the toy and most of the time I get a strange look.
The words I know are:

Alsam- alkum (ap) good morning
Gee - yes
Chup - be quiet
and that it at the moment.
Now if I could pick up the language quicker I would probuly understand more of what is going on.

working in my new tempory job has been interesting, ummm I am not that keen on it. Why you may ask? Getting to know the staff and children, trying to learn a new lanaguage
and trying to get my head around everything.
Oh and beening left to deal with creche ekkk trying to book children in for creche, take monies etc was ummm aggghhhhh, ok this bit will be turned into a critical incdent consitering I didn't fulyl understand the rules of booking creches i.e. only allowed creches at the same time each day for example late creches!!!

Roll on next week and we will see what that will bring!

Yey I have done another module piece
only 6 more to get done before 30 April 07. I am now only 1 down from last term, I hope I can get this one done before the end of the week then I will be upto date on this Personal, Development and Mangament module.
Does anyone think that the deadlines you have been set are fast approaching? Well I do only a few more weeks to do and lots to do in this time slot.

Beth
-
That when you think you don't have much work to do a load more comes in.
I am sat here reading the forum and writing up my time audit for a college task from last term. I am struggling to write it out in 500 words I can't really find a lot to say about my 5 day time audit.
I still have orgainstaion and quality management from the Personal Development and Managment module to complete and then probaley buy the time I catch up on these I will have to write up human resource managment and marketing!
Well at least one of the modules doesn't have a lot of work to complete only a 2000 word report on a critcal event I haven't decded yet, not to metion write up in neat in my diary!
As well as ICT essay to do well 1000 words not a lot to write but I don't know how to start it. I think once this year is done I will be well on my way to becoming a relfecitive practitioner and indepenant learner.

Yes the lunar eclipse was good to see in Halifax too.
Not a cloud in the sky.
We were lucky to see it, mum and I sat on the inside steps to watch it as our window faces south and got a good view.
Although saying this our bums went numb just waiting for total eclipse and got fed up after 11.15pm. So we didn't watch it anymore.
We though it was very dark outside and saw lots of stars and the lights from down in Halifax, as we live 2 miles away up a big hill.Well I am glad were we live now as if we still lived in our old house we would have been sat outside in the cold watching it.
 Thank you Mundia for telling us about the moon.

Umm and I am the one who cannot find jobs up in west yorkshire most of the time.
Shame you don't live up in West Yorkshire some of us are crying out for a job, saying that I am the one who has to find a job that fits around college course on Thursdays.
Sam your nursery sounds nice,
sorry not hot tips on how to find nursery nurses.
Good luck guys.
Beth
-
Aww what bad luck you are having.
I would work in a pre school playgroup but I cannot find the right amount of hours as I need to fit it around college and most of my preschools only run half days or on the day I need off.
Keep postive you will find someone soon.

Beth
-
Oh, Nichola I hope you feel better soon.
I am in pain too all down my right leg and its got worse since I got home from college. So I know the feeling.
Plus I have work in the morning, ummm wonder what there making at the look and cook session, whilst I and a few others care for the children in creche.Get better soon
Beth

Hey Clare don't forget to write it up in your relfective diary, I would see this as a critical indent.
I tell you attend college and learn things especally critical thinking skills. Along with lots of horror stories!
Anyway Clare I think you have been transported to the 1930's!
I also thought meal times were a social occassion.Beth
-
Rea, my bug bear are people who sit with the children but then talk to each other and not the children!
Karrie
Umm I hope I don't do that. If I did I would hope someone would tell me, but again I have seen this soo many time in practice.

Dizzy Daisy and a big welcome from me too!

Yep these jobs are defenaly like buses!
I have seen another job full time nursery nurse in a town near me. I will have to ring up Jobseekers direct in the morning to find out details and apply.
I told you every time I get a termpary job loads of perament jobs come up!

Beth
-
Well funny you mention that I would only get a contract in writing after this so called trial basis.
Don't know much about but my gutt instinct is that they just want to get someone throught the door to work there no matter what. Beth
-
Got some more information about this job and it sounds good, it more of a management postion for example day-to-day responibitilies.

I will let you know in due course. Closing date is next Monday.
Beth
-
Well ummm all isn't what it seems. The creche co-ordinator is now saying what am I hear for? pay?, sounds like I won't get a full level 3 pay until I have competed a few courses including: 3rd B23, foundation stage, etc. In the creche I felt unsuported, confused etc. I haven't got a clue how long the postion is for as they are saying its for a trial period, and they want me on Mondays 12.00 til 4.30, Tues 9.00 til 4.30, Weds 12.00 til 3.
