i've ordered a PLA book about CIOs, I'll look for that constitution too, thanks.
nothing I've read tonight mentions staff and it's really to get around the family members issue that we're looking at changing.
Soooo many years of struggling (and telling partial truths to the charity commission) has left me tired

I've just resigned from the committee, I'm the chair.
Out of the other committee members, 4 of them, only 1 has a child at the setting.
if we changed to a CIO, can the staff be the trustees and run the group?

Hi Rea - do you mean a pro forma?
If so you can download from Ofsted site
Yes, that's the thing, thanks Sunnyday 😊

We've got a new manager and I was wondering about trying to get a token, again.
Off the top of my head I've made 3 requests, for manager, temporary manager and manager.
So, with that in mind is there a way I can get a SEF hard copy from somewhere for staff to write on, add post its to instead of trying to do the online one?

I popped into to help at playgroup this morning.
M: Rea, I like you.
Me: Thank you. I like you too.
M: And I like sand.
Me and sand 😄

Hello, I'd love to help but I dont know what a huddle is

So sorry to hear this. We have ferrets so their life isnt long and each time its heartbreaking.
The vet told me to think of all the fun we'd had and what a lucky, happy life they'd had.
It doesnt help much but brings a smile now and then. :1b

We take from 2.5 but we've never had funded 2s only fee payers. We were asked by the local children's center to take them a few years ago but we said no, then we had a Requires Improvement so we couldn't take them. Now, there are 300 children who are eligible who arent accessing a funded place so, now we've got our GOOD back, its silly not to go for it.
We need another member of staff, which at the moment we can't afford so its a balancing act.

No different to children going to more than one setting now. Go for it ☺

We used Vistaprint as few years ago. It was expensive, around £80 I recall, but it bought 2 children in within a couple of weeks so paid for itself quickly. Ours is attached to the church notice bosrdvasnd as tree on church land so not council property, maybe why its not been removed?

Its low numbers mostly, I popped in this morning and there were 5 children, no absences!Sorry to hear this Rea, I know you are a traditional pre-school
Is this because of the 30 hours, or would it be 'on the cards' anyway?
The 30 hours might help us keep children who go to the nursery next door but in a shared hall we can only offer set days.
Reluctantly, we're looking closely at taking funded 2s. I didn't want to go that roroute and lose all autonomy over our income but it might be the only way.
We can pay the bills till easter but unless we get more children on the waiting list, July will see us close.
We have 8 weeks before the final decision has to be made
Its awful, so sad obviously for the staff who will lose their jobs but for the community too. There are no playgroups like ours within 3 miles and while that isn't as great distance it will leaveba big hole!
But its not over yet, we can do anything in early years and we won't give up yet!

Oh **@~:;'#^%^*^&*^% ! I'd forgotten about this. Did I register? Did they send me a letter?
I was too tired for this years ago, hence my resignation letter in 2005!!
More things to check!

I'm really thinking of extending on what the lovely lady has done in our church hall on a Monday for 30 odd years and running a small toddler group. Two hours a morning, lots of cushions on the floor, arts, crafts, music and play.
And in place of your valium...Gin!

Well, we're meeting Monday to discuss our future.
Closure is very close.
But I was thinking along the same lines. Close up then re-open a couple of hours a day to play. Just play. No wage. No hassle. No Ofsted or EY advisors.

You've listed all the problems we thought we'd face but I was hoping for something! I dont even know what.
We charge £4 if they bring a packed lunch and £6.50 if they have school meal. School charge us £2.05.
Staff and committee tended to think anymore than that would be excessive and I agree but its an area we might have to look at. Although with the few children we've got, it probably wont make a great deal of difference. One satff member and myself have even said we'd volunteer some hours,, but even then, its pennies isnt it?
Oh well.
Thanks, from a very down in the dumps chair.

We currently make an extra charge to take the children round to the local primary school for lunch. Its costing us money! So do any of you cook in your premises, church hall, shared kitchen, but sole users at the time. Staff did food hygiene last year andvdaid too complicated to do our own hot meals. I was thinking pizza, chips, beans, fish fingers etc. Cook, serve no waiting around asnd keeping to a temp.
Possible? Or not?
Meeting Monday looking at all finances and where we can make cuts on top of cuts so possibly grasping at straws!
-
We're having a meeting on monday to discuss whether we will be able to stay open much longer, past July anyway! Being able to offer more funded hours might help us! And I love that we can limit the asmount of places we offer. Thanks, I'm seeing glimmers of hope, albeit through a black fog!

Does it say anywhere that the whole 30 hours has to be used? Could the parent ask for 20 hours funded or 23, 26? The 15 hours isnt mandatory so I just wondered.

Inge posted a link to this on the Facebook page. I actually love Neil Leitch a little bit!

I haven't heard that and I would tend to use our standard reponse if I was told that! Prove it!
I'm always a bit uncomfortable using food to play with so I would always use out of date if it was available.

Oh Rea that's priceless
True! She's been lifting the hem of his shirt since we were 16, to see if he's wearing anything underneath.
'Oh my god, you'll freeze, you'll have arthritis when you're old, you watch'. Word for word. ☺☺☺

Thanks MootherGoose.
I looked at the comparison list Manor had attached but it looks like we wouldn't be able to transfer our resources to the CIC. I'm booking in with our accountant to see what he can help us with ☺
