  1. I must have had a sixth sense. I hardly ever pop in now, but thought I would tonight. I echo all that has been said about Catma. One of the wise, that we have all listened to over the years. I wish you well with your writing and hope to see you in print soon.

I have taken to the stage and belong to the Elders Company at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. We Early Years practitioners are a gifted lot, with many transferable skills. Retirement can be great!!!

  2. From a really creaking person to all you amazing FSFers. I hope that you have all had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a Happy New Year. I pop in now and again to see how you are all doing. You have the best jobs in the world, even if you arenot always appreciated as you should be. TImes are hard, but I read so much love and care for your children, so that doesn't change. Keep it up chaps as you make a positive difference to children and families. xxx

  3. It isn't just small children who are in danger. The elderly can become confused and think that they are pills. This happened to my 98 year old Father who was changing his hearing-aid batteries and swallowed them instead. Fortunately I arrived ar that moment and realised what he had done and rang the hospital, which sent an ambulance. We managed to wash them through his body with fizzy drinks, but it was a terrilbe experience for him and involved peroidic x-rays to chek on progress and an overnight stay.

  4. Wonderful! So now I am going to hijack this thread just to say please please please become a Dementia Friend and attend an awareness session to help understand dementia, and how to help others live well with dementia. Fascinating stuff.
