Guest
Hi everyone, Just finishing off my presentation!!!! I really need a good reflective quote to finish with. Guest Wolfie
You mean a quote from a renowned theorist? Or something more general?
Guest justinece
‘We live in a relative universe and …relativity seeks adjustment; that adjustment is art; …the art of life lies in a constant re-adjustment to one’s surroundings’ (Okakura, cited in Cohen, 2005) How is this? Guest
You mean a quote from a renowned theorist? Or something more general? I would prefer something a bit more general as the presentation has got plenty of references to the theorists, nothing too heavy if you know what i mean! Thanks, its harder than i thought!!! Guest
Inge, that's the first thing I thought of when reading swoolhouses' theme 'childrens learning and the barriers' definately think the poem says it all. Peggy
Guest
These are both word documents but you may be able to use something from them. Good luck! I seem to quote 'play is a child's work' about 100 times a week - it really is my hobbyhorse! I have laminated the 'what children retain and display it around the nursery, put it in the joining pack etc..... what_children_retain.doc play_for_play__s_sake.doc
Guest
Thanks for those LJW, not seen them before and certainly state what should be the reality of childhood. Peggy
Guest
Thank you for sharing those LJW - I'm in the process of gathering quotes to support learning through play and exploration to display in our reception - and they fit the bill nicely. Thanks again Sam

Guest Wolfie
I've got a nice little A4 poster...which I'll try and scan to attach later.....with a child playing and the quote: "What children bring home in their heads is far more important than what they bring home in their hands" - a good one if you're trying to get the message across that process is more important than end product.
