skippy
How do you deal with this in your settings . Should we except children knowing they have them and can we send them home if they are crawling? Just wondered what is good practice with you?!?

Guest
Beat me to it Inge!! We never exclude a child because of headlice. We always inform all parents that we have a case of headlice in the pre-school and give them advice on how to treat it. Linda
Guest
We usually put a notice up on the notice board saying that headlice is in the pre-school etc and a leaflet that says how to treat it
Guest
I do the same as the others. most mothers are responsible and keep the child at home while they treat them overnight, but ocasionally you get some pursisten ones( headlice that is) and a family that have great problems getting rid of them. I generally try and work by gently re-informing the parents that we have them in the group, and keep them on thier toes to keep looking for them. I have ahd children that I've kept track of and they have had them all the way through school. not kept track because of the headlice but because the family were "special"
