Hi,

was wondering if anyone can give me some ideas on good mathematical problem solving activities for 4 year olds?

Any advice would be great :)

Thanks!

On a maths course recently we were told that the children are problem solving when they play anyway. I have found that linking it to stories works well e.g. it's baby bear's birthday and mummy bear needs.... what can she do?

Have a look in the governments 'Problem solving' lunchbox that came out a couple of years ago. There are some ideas for Reception in there too.
