Guest Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Hi Everyone Just had to share My 9 yr old daughter who has autistic traits. She is very literal and does not understand expression has just done her Preliminary LAMDA Drama Exam - she had to read a poem, with expression! and then answer questions about her favourite book, I hoped the examiner had lots of time!!!! So lots of practice and tears later off she went AND Guess What she passed WITH DISTINCTION!! Best of it is she'e seen a T Shirt with 'DRAMA QUEEN' on it and said she's now a queen so can she have it, Bless her she doesn't see it in the same light as us!! But ofcourse I'll buy It. OOOOOOOOOH I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO PROUD! Quote
JacquieL Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Congratulations from the forum Drama Queen Well done both of you. What an achievement for your daughter and no wonder you are proud. How does she feel about it? My adult daughter has autism but she is SLD. She loves going 10 pin bowling - she gently sets the ball off and then goes to sit down. By some miracle it gets to the other end of the lane but she never watches it at all. She does very briefly look at the score board so knows if she gets a strike. She doesn't show any feeling of elation at all. She also seems to have a photographic memory, one quick look and she has noticed everything. She is very very quick with Maths number problems and is just amazing with really difficult jigsaws. Her memory for peoples names is very useful, and birthdays. Quote
