Guest Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Please can anyone recommend where to get some decent children's cutlery from? We have a real mish mash of items. Most of the spoons are more suitable for babies. What we want is some cutlery for the older children so that they can spread their own toast, etc. Is there anywhere where you can buy it in a large set, rather than only getting 1 knife, fork and spoon at a time?
Guest tinkerbell Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Ikea do bright coloured sets of plastic cutlery, we use them in our baking sessions and we have a set in our dough area and role play home corner.Afterschool also have sets which they use with older children so they are quite robust. Inge Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 Also use Ikea ones very cheap for set of 6 knives forks and spoons. childrens cutlery we also use their plates, bowls and cups, and for role play area and cheaper than play ones too! Inge

This is the cheapest supplier I have found - and they are FAB!!!
Guest Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Went for the metal cutlery, and it arrived this week. The children can actually use the forks to stab the food - without getting frustrated with plastic ones and deciding that fingers work best!! They've well enjoyed spreading their own toast too - a slight overdose of butter perhaps, as they get used to the amounts needed - but very reqarding to watch. One girl wasn't too happy that you couldn't get pink cutlery, but you can't please them all!!!!
