New Laptop And Printer

Hi

Can't quite believe it but have just picked up a new laptop and printer provided by our local Surestart. It's used under contract for 3 years then becomes the property of the setting. Aimed at the business side of things, which is why I got to pick it up cos I do the admin, but also to be used by staff for planning and working with children.

Just trying it out and naturally had to check that I could access the forum, phew.

So if your local Surestart write to your setting to offer you a laptop if you complete a lengthy questionnaire, do fill in the form you might be one of the lucky ones.

We were also give a flashcard data disk thing with Surestart on it, containing lots of information and useful for storing/backing up data. So if you're in Dorset contact Surestart to ask for one as they are available to everyone (unlike the laptops which I believe have all been allocated).

Ooooohh! Lucky you Deb! I am very jealous! Where I am, we have no computer facilities at all, meaning that unless I take everything home with me, which, with a buggy and a frustrated two year old, is a mission, everything else has to be done by hand.

Sorry to hijack this slightly, but I was wondering... I've heard that some Surestart areas dish out laptops to adults undertaking the foundation degree. Is this right? If so, how does one go about signing up? :o

Well done Deb, on your laptop!!
