Guest Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 it stands for the Focus Foundation Stage Progress Tracker. Our head has heard of another school trialling it and wants us to trial it with them... sure I said instead of the e-profile? ... hmmm anyhow, I've tried a demo version and it does much the same things really... sure it's a bit jazzier, it formulates targets for you and it takes into account things like single-parent-families and EAL (because we never do that of our own free-thinking do we!? ) Have a looksie here anyhow, if you've used it, or knows anything about then please let me know Cheers ~ Paul
Susan Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I dont get anything sensible from the demo download, what am I doing wrong??
Deb Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 Will it be uptodate given the consultation document on a single framework from birth to five currently under way? Deb
Guest flutter Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I also didn't get anything sensible from demo download?????

Susan Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 No havent heard of it before but Im supply teaching at the moment! Now get a security warning so not exploring further.
mundia Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Hi Paul, n o Ive not herd of it either. What is your Heads thinking on this? Why pay extra fro something? I dont know about you but our LEA insists that dat is returned to them via the eprofile so we would still have to put the data into that anyway..is you LA the same?

Marion Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 My arguement was much the same as Paul's ............it costs £200! and why repeat assessment twice. We are using the Focus tracking materials further up the school.
Guest Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I am not saying that I want to use it- It has been bought by the school and I am the one who has got to look through it and show the other staff how to use it. At the moment it seems like its been a waste of money and my head isnt going to be very pleased- Is there noone who uses it?
Guest Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 We're using it for our nursery children anf then having the nursery staff transfer what's on there to the FSP at the end of the year... I'm totally not convinced of it's value or justification of cost
Marion Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Does seem like extra work Paul could the nursery not use the FSP from the start?
Susan Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 Have you seen the other thread on this, Paul? here
