Do anyone have ang songs that they use with rhythm sticks. The following ones are ones we use.

 

Take a stick

I have to say I have never heard any of them, where did you find them?

There is a song on the sticky kids keep fit tape that can be used with rhythm sticks. I will check tomorrow.

We have a person that come into the setting to do music with the children twice a term.

She left us a sheet with then on.

We also do the Grand old Duke of york. but would like to learn some others.

It is Nicki-Our sticks tap high, our sticks tap low etc. We all love that one.

The ones that i have seen in educational catalogues seem really expensive and ideally you'd need a set for each child in the class.

You could buy broom handles and cut them into suitable lengths, becsltd

I had one kind grandad who made ours - bits of dowelling - bit of sandpaper and hey presto - 28 pairs of tapping sticks -

children love them and I will at some time get them painted!!!! Total cost £13.00

Thanks for the other songs.

 

Our rhythm sticks are made from broom handles cut to size and sand papered down.

 

The children love using them.

Just wanted to say thank you for the songs you posted. I used them today and everyone joined in. They all had such a good time, they wanted to sing them to their parents when they were collected.

 

One little boy never joins in with these kind of activities but he had a great time; instead of us dancing around playing we sat in a semi circle and he had the confidence to join us, even our two year olds sat lovely

we always have the children sitting in a circle when we us the rhythm sticks I'm glad you found the usful. If I come across any more I will post them.
