Hi,

Was just wondering if those of you who don't follow half termly topics do you just follow interests as they arise with individuals or groups or do you do mini topics based on a particular interest within your cohort that you would introduce to all the children?

Hi Green hippo, we haven’t followed themes for a few years, we moved to ITM then so follow interests as and when they arise, we add enhancements/provocations to continuous provision if wanting to get something specific or we can see from cohort tracking that progress was lower in a specif area for a certain group, we do loosely slip in festivals/seasons, the only forward planning we have is large group activities at the end of morning session and then end of day. If a staff member is doing something with a child/children they see from our tracking sheets which other chn are working on that as a NS and invite to join a small group activity.
