Early Years Investment Fund scrapped

Recommended Posts

As reported in Nursery World the Government have scrapped the Early Years Investment fund.

In November 2016, we fed back on the Foundation Stage Forum from the LED meeting in London. You can read our notes from that meeting on this thread: 30 hours LED event London 21st November 2016. During this meeting we were told by DfE about an investment fund which would help providers access funds for expansion and development in relation to their delivery of the 30 hours scheme. The relevant slide from the presentation is here.

Mention of this fund is now conspicuously absent from the Sources of income for early years providers. Nursery World challenged DfE and asked for clarification and "The DfE has confirmed the decision to scrap it was made last autumn. A source told Nursery World that the fund was shelved ‘at the last minute'." You can read the Nursery World article in full here
