mundia Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 If you haven't seen this yet, please take time to read and respond. It may look (because it says primary assessment) that it doesn't have anything to do with early years. It does! Opinions sought on the EYFSP but also on introducing a baseline in reception. You can get a flavour of the thinking by how many questions start with 'if we introduce baseline to reception.....'. Early education have written a very good response to help you muse over the issues. https://www.early-education.org.uk/news/draft-response-primary-assessment-consultation The consultation itself is here https://consult.education.gov.uk/assessment-policy-and-development/primary-assessment/ As ever, if you have a view, please have a voice. It closes on 22nd June, so next week. 1
Froglet Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Mundia, thanks so much for the reminder. It's on my TDL but this time of year is so busy. Also, thanks for the Early education info too.
FSFRebecca Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Don't forget ... the consultation closes TOMORROW TES ran a news piece about the consultation today: Teachers disagree with government over best year for baseline assessment
Froglet Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Thank you for this - I hadn't forgotten the consultation but I am struggling to remember the date at the moment! I am just half way through completing it now!
Helen Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Yes, completed it myself just now! It's so important we all voice our opinions. :1b
mundia Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 Ahem, yes I did mine yesterday, think I went off on one though about assessment generally. It was certainly quite lengthy when it was submitted.
Helen Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Me too! I tried very hard not to sound like a mad woman.
Froglet Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Me too - I kept getting carried away and then discovering that the next question addressed the point I'd just made!
