USB sticks

Hi all

I want to export Learning Journals using USB sticks. What size do you think would be suitable in terms of GB? There would be roughly 200 photographs on each one. Many thanks :1b

Hi Gill,

This would depend quite a bit on the size of photos you uploaded to Tapestry in the first place. 200 small photos would be significantly different to 200 high resolution photos.

If you export all your learning journals first, you can check each file size by right clicking on the file and selecting 'properties'. You could check every file, or just take a representative sample, and then you should know exactly what size of storage device you will need.

As an alternative to giving away or lending CD's or usb sticks you can also allow parents to download journals themselves for a one week period: Downloading journals to PDF

If you need any further advice on this, please send an email to customer.service@eyfs.info and we'd be happy to assist.

Best wishes,

Joe

Thanks for that Joe! I have looked at the link and I think I think I need a glass of wine! It's very helpful to have each step outlined but i will need to read that several times before attempting it ::1a

I will also be downloading to flashdrives as we felt it was a good leaving gift for our parents . I was going to get them printed with our logo but have just had the quote and now not so sure!

I can order 100 from amazon for about £230 I suspect I will go with the 2gb just to be sure though.

I was thinking the 2GB ones as well. The pictures on the learning journeys certainly aren't small though. I hadn't even thought of that. I'll try a test one out as Joe suggested and keep my fingers crossed that everything fits on as there is a big jump in price to the 8GB sticks!
