cathyuhu
Sorry if this has been covered, looked through the forums but can't find any info. Just wondered how school nurseries were going to offer the 30hrs and what your model looks like for providing it? We will be offering it but I can't see how I can organise it in my school setting, the logistics of the whole thing is immense for us. Most parents want 6 hours a day with the occasional odd request like 10-2-15?! Are you going to specify session times e.g a morning session time and afternoon session time? We just could not accomodate children coming and going mid way through the day. Any thoughts and ideas greatly received!
Dmccallin81
We will be offering Morning (8:30-11:30), Afternoon (12:30-3:30) or 2.5 days (mon + Tue 8:30-3:30 Wed 8:30-11:30 or flip for other end of week) as our 15 hour provision and 8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday as our 30 hour provision. We have previously offered multiple drop off and pick up times but it was a logistical nightmare and impacted on all children's learning so we now only offer these sessions. Guest
We will offer 30 hours and stick to the sessions we already run which cover 9-3 Our morning is 9-12 and afternoon 12-3. This cuts down on lots of coming and going though we do have some go and some arrive mid day However we can add to these sessions with breakfast club cover and after school cover if necessary. hopeytg
We have always previously been flexible but from Sept this is changing - two sessions 9-12 & 12-3 (County are not allowing us to charge for lunch - I wanted to do 9-12 and 13-16) we open at 0800 and close at 1600 so those hours are not included in the funded hours and are charged as a full hour regardless of drop off and pick up time. I am looking forward to the reduction in interruptions.
HoneyPancakes
I'm a childminder and the school I pick up from only has 11 (out of 30) places filled for September as they are only offering morning sessions and haven't made alternative arrangements for wrap-around. cathyuhu
It's such a headache, I think we will have to use breakfast and after school club as have no TA's willing to change contracts to work early or late, which is fair enough. We will run our sessions as before so parents will have to fit in with an 8.45/9 start and 3pm finish with pick ups (if staying for lunch) at 12.30 when pm children arrive. Thank you for the replies!
