Viewing and commenting on a report

This tutorial explains how you can access and add comments to a report for your child.

Please note that this can only be done when the staff at your child’s setting have made the report visible to you.

It's also worth noting that the ability to like, comment or download media from a report can be restricted by your setting, so these options may not always appear.

 

Firstly, you'll need to log into the browser version of Tapestry at tapestryjournal.com

The reports function is not available on the app but you can access it from a browser on your mobile or tablet device.

 

To access your reports, click the 'Reports' tab in the blue bar at the top of the page.

 

 

To view a report you just need to click on the report's title.

 

 

You can also filter for specific reports by going to the 'List' view (1) and selecting to 'Filter and Sort Reports' (2).

 

 

 

You can like a report by accessing it and clicking the 'Like' button at the top of the page.

 

 

 

You can also download the report as a printable PDF file. You can do this by clicking the 'Export' button at the top right (1). You will be given a few options for what you would like to include in the download, and format you would like for this - either default, compact or printer friendly (2). Once you have selected your preferences, click 'Download PDF' (3).

 

 

Near the bottom of a report you will see a section where you can upload files. Here you can upload photos and videos, and well as media such as PDFs and Word Documents.

If you would like to do this, click 'Add Files' (1). Then, once you have added the files from your device or computer, click 'Start Upload' (2).

 

 

Just above this, if the setting have attached any pictures, videos or documents to the report and you are permitted to download these you will be able to do so by clicking the individual files (1) or the blue text that says 'download these pictures, videos and documents' (2) - there is also an option to do this if you click the cog icon at the top right of a report (3). Otherwise, the files will appear here, but you won't be able to download them (4).

 

 

 

 

You will also see a comments section at the bottom of the page. You can add a comment to a report by typing into this box and clicking 'Add Reply'.

 

 

For some reports you will also have the option to add a child's voice (1), your own contribution (2) and a place for you to sign the report (3).

You can fill in these sections and add a digital signature by clicking the blue buttons in each section.
