pickles37 Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Hello Have any of you ever had a member of staff who has achieved a degree in education overseas that has then needed to be compared with the eyfs and hasn't met the criteria that the department of education stipulate?? What would you do if a senior member of staff was in this position but were really at level two Thanks Quote
eyfs1966 Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 if her degree or childcare qualification is not deemed full and relevant for L3, then she must not hold a L3 position i.e manager. Quote
pickles37 Posted May 28, 2016 Author Posted May 28, 2016 Thank you, where did you get this information from? Quote

Guest Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 My advice is also to clarify from what country she is and what is her qualification. Some countries simply do not have a separate EYFS in higher education, it can be as a part of a course towards any teacher qualification. In order to make it comparable to EYFS she needs to show to NARIC the inset of the diploma with the list of all the subjects completed and hours. It is a bit tricky but doable. She also needs to get a certificate of comparability for Maths and complete either GCSE English here in the UK or sit a simpler option - equivalency test. Quote
Guest Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Another option if she has a degree (NARIC approved) she can apply for Early Years teacher training job based one year course. You can employ her and if she successful in course application, your setting will get 7000£ to help her with the training. Plus if you already have someone with EYT status or EYP or QTS, then you get an extra £300 for mentoring her. If you have more questions, feel free to PM me. Quote
