Emmawill Posted July 8, 2015 Share Posted July 8, 2015 We have recently been taken over by the academy that we are in the grounds of instead of being a charity run preschool. Do we legally now have to have a qualified teacher in preschool ( I have Early Years degree and EYP status) or can we use the EYFS teachers from the foundation stage to cover that part. Jester Posted July 9, 2015 Share Posted July 9, 2015 Academies can "make up their own rules" so to speak and there does not need to be a QTS. That said in the primary school I worked in, we had a pre school that was run by a pre school leader and "over seen" by the head but she kind of just let us get in with it really.
