KST Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Have a school trip planned next week and we are walking as its local but will be a bit of long walk so we had the back up of the school mini bus if needed. But suddenly had a panic if we would need booster seats in the mini bus for reception ages children or if the three point swag belt is enough?
Foreveryoung Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 (edited) we use school buses (LA) and private coaches each year, i have always found that local authority mini buses the small 16 seater type require booster seats but coach companies do not, i think from past conversations with them it was something to do with size of vehicle and insurance. We have never used a mini bus by ourselves its always been a company driver and insurance. oh just to add this is with 3/4 year olds and on our personal insurance not a school insurance, as this may make a big difference. eyfs1966 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 No car seats required for buses coaches or minivans as far as I am aware.
Guest Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Hi, I used to drive a mini bus for an after school club and we always ensured that if a child was less than 135cm they had a booster seat x
Beau Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/the-law/other-vehicles-buses-coaches-and-minibuses/ Regardless of the law though, I always insisted on proper restraints and seats when I took the playgroup children in any sort of vehicle.
