starsdance Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Going round the bend trying to resolve this...... Next week I have to have a day off as my husband is going for an operation so I will be leaving two members of qualified staff to run the session. We have had an offer of help from a couple of parents as they want to go out to our field area with the children. I will have 11 over 3's and 1 under with the potential of 1 more under as the parent will bring her child. Can I include the parents' in the ratios or do I have to tell her she can't help? The parents' are on our committee so both have DBS checks. Also, on this subject, how do the ratio's change and by how much for outings. I can't find anything out. Quote
starsdance Posted November 21, 2014 Author Posted November 21, 2014 May have just answered my own question - if the parent is in charge of her own child she can come and we will be covered for the remainder with the other two members of staff. Quote
Wildflowers Posted November 21, 2014 Posted November 21, 2014 Regarding outings - the ratios remain the same as long as indoors. However, you do need to have the number of adults present that is needed to ensure the children's safety, based on your risk assessment. Quote
