Guest Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 We have a child with speech issues (pronunciation) I can understand her and I feel that she has fulfilled the ELG general statements But .... " children express themselves effectively..." does this imply children with speech issues cannot be awarded this point? Would welcome some advice please. Thanks Gretna
catma Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 The goal holistically, as a best fit judgement may well be what matches her attainment. The pronunciation may be the relative weakness but you would have to go beyond that and really be sure she is demonstrating the content of the goal, and looking at how that stacks up against the speaking skills in other goals she may have.
