maggiewallace Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Hi everyone, I have been looking into the observations we do in our nursery. We do two types of observations, written or photographic. Both observations include a short description of what happened, the next step, what characteristic of effective learning was used and which of the seven areas of learning and development it focused on. I have wondered if we should start using other types of observations. What observations do others do? Thanks!
Panders Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Much the same as you. We were told by our LA not to do 10 minute observations any longer unless there was a good reason for it. Sometimes I do 5 minute samples to see what new children get up to when they first start, but that's about all 2
