JJA
Do we have to complete online SEF??? I am just training up my Deputy Manager and was going to use the opportunity to update the online SEF with her so she knew what it was all about, but if it is unnecessary then I won't bother!! We do a very detailed 'RAG' of ourselves every term and keep this up to date when changes are made, which is far more user friendly (and less wordy) than the SEF. We use our findings from the RAG to set targets in our 'Improvement and Development Plan'. Surely this is evaluation enough without jumping through 'SEF' hoops? Guest
Do what suits you, as long as you can show you evaluate, identify good & not so good aspects of your provision that's fine, if it's reflective thats what matters.

diesel10
No you don't but you need something to show the inspector everything that you do and might not see on the inspection day.
RustyFox
No you don't have to complete one but I have been told that a simple, bullet points only SEF helps them prepare for their visit to you and can have a positive effect on the outcome. The emphasis was on simple bullet points as they, like us, have to do lots of paperwork in their own time! Once you have started it you can put a full stop in each box and this will allow you to post it live and then just dip in and out to complete it. Guest
Our inspector had read ours before arriving, this helped with the inspection, so although no I would always do it.
woodlands1997
We hadn't submitted ours but had started it and done bits, the inspector read it at the end of her time with us and said it really helped her to get some evidence she didn't fully have x Edited July 19, 2014 by woodlands1997
