Nyem
Hi all, We need to leave our current premises and were hoping to move into purpose build premises by September, for funding reasons this has not been possible. However, we are able to move temporarily to another small building in the mean time. This premises will allow us to take a max of 15 children at a time but it only has 2 toilets (0 disabled). I have rang OFSTED as I know the new framework is less specific about tiolets, but were very vague as to whether this would be adequate as a temporary solution! Could anyone please give any advise? We would have to pack away for the weekend as this is when tbe building is current ly used. Would we fail an OFSTED inspection? We were inspected last week and achieved good in our current setting! thank you
narnia
I have a similar problem.............we currently have four toilets ( we are registered for 20 children) and three wash basins. Our landlord wants to take one toilet away and change the cubicle into a store cupboard. I THINK this is ok, but not certain........any ideas?? hali
if its not till Sept - in the new framework no exact requirements apart from to say 'adequate number' so as long as you feel this is the case then you should be fine. If its before sept i would tell Ofsted in writing and risk assess!
woodlands1997
Isn't it 1:10 children at the moment? We have 20 children and 2 children's toilets and washbasins? Never been a problem x
Nyem
The problem is no staff toilet, so only two toilets for children and staff! Would we need to use one solely for staff? Risk assess?
Inge
we had 2 toilets.. 20 children.. no staff toilet since eyfs came in and there was no longer any 'must' for an adult toilet.. but a suggestion..we had a risk assessment in place for the toilet area.. has been like that ever since.. and although I no longer work there I know it is still the same.. in fact there is no disabled toilet in there either.. we were daily pack away as hall was used every evening by others.. same applies to local village hall... 2 toilets, 18 children and no adult toilet...
