flowlow
Hi all So sorry more questions this week!! It seems that Ofsted are now under this new framework looking for more comparison data. So instead of just doing a 'check' on how the cohort is getting on we should be looking at other groups as well. SO for example EAL, SEN, Boys/Girls, as well as usage of areas. There are so many ways this information could be recorded and used wondered what everybody else did. I so wish I could use tapestry, my understand is that these reports could be generated so easily with that
flowlow
oh and I also forgot our committee meetings are normally a little more informal although there is and agenda etc... but it seems I need a written managers report now does anybody else to this? I am thinking just comment on numbers, report on improvement plan but wondered again if anybody else does this.
thumperrabbit
As manager I just report on current numbers, how the waiting list is looking, and if we have any staffing/general issues eg problems with the hall - however it's me who sorts it all out!! Basically we are just ticking a box & making it formal the only thing my committee actually do is fundraising - although my chair has and would support recruitment if needed to.
lynned55
We are now the same as ThumperRabbit. I do a brief report for our committee just whats happened since last one and ask if they agree to anything we need/want changed or any polices that require adopting/amending. In reality they agree to anything as its myself and/or Deputy that do everything anyway. Only thing I dont do is run the payroll.

lynned55
I do however work out how much each staff member should be paid each month and pass that figure to our treasurer, who then runs the payroll and in turn tells me how much to pay HMRC!

I so wish I could use tapestry, my understand is that these reports could be generated so easily with that I look forward to a meeting with an Ofsted inspector to discuss my boy/girl, sen/non sen, eal/efl children as I will blind them with a long statistical discussion about the nature of statistical significance. BRING IT ON. I am SO fed up with record keeping that adds nothing to the outcomes of children. After all, isn't improving their outcomes supposted to be key here?????? Sorry rubbish day, and just couldn't keep that in! Edited November 20, 2013 by eyfs1966
