DBS Checks for Volunteers

Now DBS checks have to be paid for, can I ask what people do with regards to payment for staff and volunteers....do you ask them to pay for their check? Or is payment made by your setting?

I have paid for staff and someone who approached me about volunteering paid for themselves. I think in my setting if we are asking people to volunteer then I would pay for them but if they are asking to come and volunteer to get experience etc then payment would be down to them

Volunteers are still free, but there is an admin fee of £8 or so.
