tinkerbell1403 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Morning all, Can anyone tell me if I need to get my deputy to complete the EY2 suitable person check from OFSTED? I have a complete EY2 for myself and will be getting one for the other manager I job share with but she will only be working 3 days a week when she returns from maternity leave. Therefore, when she isn't here and I am not here, do I need my deputy to hold an EY2? Sorry if that's a bit confusing but I just want to get it right. Don't need OFSTED knocking on my door!! Inge Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 No.. only person that does need to register with Ofsted is the person in day to day charge of the setting.. so manager/ leader/ supervisor.. what ever you want to call them.. and the person who owns the setting.. so the registered body be it an owner, trustees, committee etc.. Deputy is up to the setting to ensure they are suitable for the job and have the required documentation to show this... same as for all staff... 1 Quote

Guest Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Although I was told by OFSTED that if the Manager/supervisor is away for a prolonged period e.g. holiday, sickness, then whoever is in charge does need to complete an EY2. Quote
sharonash Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I telephoned Ofsted yesterday and was told I am the only person who needs the EY2 as the registered person and it is up to me to recruit the manager and decide on their suitability they do not need to complete a EY2 1 Quote
