Ours is a small, rural setting and we spend each morning outside, so some questions I ask (below) are related to that.

Please be aware that you're not allowed to ask health related questions until after a person have been offered a job,

I've just been informed from our Development Officer. I can share her guidance if anyone needs them.

Do you live within reasonable driving distance and have access to a car?

Would working in a small setting with low income be realistic for you? Do you have to pay a mortgage or expensive rent?

Which age groups have you worked with – primarily babies, 2 year olds, 3 and 4 year olds and/or reception-aged children?

What kind of settings do you have experience from – day nurseries, pre-schools and/or primary schools?

Do you have children yourself?

Do you have thorough experience of the EYFS, including doing assessments?

Have you any experience of or have read anything about different approaches to early years education, other than that provided in conventional settings?

Would you feel comfortable working in quite an intimate and informal setting with one other person only, getting to know the families quite well?

Would you remain enthusiastic on a morning with incessant rain?

Are you prepared to wear thermal leggings, waterproofs and a hat?

(I'm also looking for staff...)

Good luck!
