Advice needed please!

I have a member of staff who frequently talks to the children in the 'third person' and it is driving me mad! The person in question is in a temporary position until a suitable person is appointed. However, she is intending to apply for the post. The person whose post she is covering also talked to the children in this way and it was a relief when she resigned as she ignored my requests to stop doing this.

I have used the forum to discuss this in the past and was given some very good advice and reasons why we should not use this way to talk to the children, but I cannot find the post!

The temporary member of staff is very approachable and I'm pleased that she will be applying for the post, but I'd like to sort out this very annoying problem in a tactful way before the interviews take place. Can anyone give any suggestions please? :(

Absolutely I hate it too! I had a staff member who did this all the time. She stopped when I explained how odd it would sound if you talked to an adult that way. Try doing it to her until she understands!

Yes, Melba - I might just try that if reasoning doesn't work! :D
