Guest Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Hi sounds fun, i would possibly make a witches shoe shop, Write spells Create potions outside (Mud & Sand) you've got book links like winnie the witch, meg and mog You could have a vets for the witches familier i.e cats and toads. Make thier own props for play- hats, broomsticks Hope some of these will help. Quote
Inge Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 could adapt letters and sounds silly soup activity to silly spells, and put the items into a cauldron or magic pot.. have a selection of rhyming objects (e.g.rat, hat, cat) placed on the floor. Use a pot and spoon as props to act out the song. Invite the children, in turn, to choose an object to put into the pot. After each turn, stir the soup and sing the following song to recite the growing list of things that end up in the soup. Sing the first part of the song to the tune of ‘Pop Goes the Weasel’: I’m making lots of silly spells I’m making spells so silly I’m going to cook it in the fridge To make it nice and chilly In goes… a fox… a box… some socks… the objects could be changed for their need or ability as appropriate.. same initial sound, same ending etc.. 1 Quote
purplewednesday1 Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 There's a fabulous page from a witch's catalogue in The Jolly Postman - that would make a great starting point for an imaginative activity: what would a witch need?, could you make that? pw Quote
